Turley launches Strategic Communications service in Birmingham with senior hire

We have appointed a new Director for Strategic Communications in our Birmingham office – a move that launches the service in the Midlands.

David Blackadder-Weinstein joins from Midlands Connect where he was head of external affairs. Having played a leading role in the promotion of major public sector schemes across the Midlands, including High Speed Two and the Midlands Rail Hub, David brings a wealth of strategic communications and stakeholder engagement experience.

The appointment coincides with the 20th anniversary of our Birmingham office and adds to the breadth of services offered in the Midlands, where the team continues to see strong demand for strategic communications advice as part of all major projects.

The appointment sees our Birmingham office join Manchester, London, Bristol and Belfast as regional hubs across the UK from which specialist Strategic Communications services are offered.

Commenting on David’s appointment, Head of Strategic Communications, Nick Jones said:

“David will play a crucial role in our ability to deliver trusted strategic communications advice in one of the fastest growing and most important markets in the UK. With the Government’s ‘levelling up’ agenda and the recent confirmation of HS2, it’s an ideal time for us to be bringing the service to the heart of the Midlands.”

Speaking about his appointment, David added:

“I’m genuinely excited to be joining the team in Birmingham. Turley enjoys a fantastic reputation as one of the country’s foremost planning consultancies. In the 21st century, the ability to provide sound strategic communications advice to clients is an essential aspect of that.

“I’m looking forward to working with Nick and co-owners from around the business to establish our strategic communications service across the East and West Midlands. Combined with our strong local knowledge, this offering will allow us to further support those looking to invest in the region, helping bring forward a range of ambitious new developments, and ensuring the Midlands makes the most of the Government’s levelling up agenda.”
