City of London Corporation plans for the refurbishment and extension of 6 Broad Street Place, in the Finsbury Circus area of the City of London have been approved.

We provided expert Planning services for the project, working as part of a project team including architects Sheppard Robson. The development will modernise the existing ground floor retail offer, significantly upgrading and extending the office floorspace of the Edwardian fronted office block, improving its moment of arrival experience and including the provision of a new roof terrace.

The development, located within the Finsbury Circus Conservation Area, will provide c. 4,300 sq m (GEA) of BREEAM Excellent rated Class E office floorspace and c. 220 sq m (GEA) of Class E retail floorspace, located directly opposite Liverpool Street Station and one of the new Elizabeth Line entrances in the heart of the City of London.

“We are proud to have supported City of London Corporation throughout the planning process to gain planning approval for the refurbishment and provision of high-quality office space at this prominent central London location.

“The development will contribute to the revitalisation and upgrade of commercial floorspace in the Finsbury Circus area on this key corner site adjacent to Liverpool Street. In this historic and characterful location, the site’s improved frontages will enhance the street level arrival experience for the millions of users of Liverpool Street station and its new Crossrail station.

“We worked collaboratively with the City of London Corporation to address complex heritage considerations, providing a sensitively designed, high quality scheme.”

Andrien Meyers, Chair of the City of London Corporation’s Property Investment Board said:

“We are delighted to have secured planning permission for the refurbishment at 6 Broad Street Place.
