Landscape Planning Assistant

One year placement, starting Summer 2024


About the role

The role will be to assist our Chartered Landscape Architects in undertaking a wide range of landscape planning, townscape and assessment work including:

  • Landscape feasibility studies
  • Landscape and townscape appraisals
  • LVIA and TVIA baseline assessments
  • Strategic landscape planning and vision documents
  • GIS mapping and view testing with

What to expect

The work will include assessments, report-writing and graphic support for a wide range of exciting high profile projects across the UK. The position is within the Turley Heritage, Townscape and Landscape team, which is a growing part of Turley. The role will be particularly suited to students with an interest in planning, landscape and townscape. Ideally, the role will be based in our London office but a position in our Manchester office may also be possible.

The projects I work on are diverse including tall buildings, residential development, and renewable energy schemes creating an interesting variety or work daily; whilst working alongside a friendly, supportive, and experienced team.

About you

You will be creating better places, and you will hold a BA in Landscape Architecture / Landscape Planning. You will demonstrate skills such as site appraisals and assessments, report writing, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop and a basic understanding of UK planning policy.

This is a paid 12 month fixed term role, our focus is to give you valuable, direct learning experience to help you in your future career. There is some flexibility on the placement start date though ideally it will commence during summer 2024.
