Setting uncertainty aside: New company director considers the future of development in London

London-based Senior Director Roger Mascall has been appointed to the role of company director, underlining Turley’s commitment to London.

The move follows Roger taking on the leadership of Turley’s London office in July this year. He also heads up our national heritage team, which is offered alongside planning, economics, sustainability, strategic communications and VIA services from our base in Midtown.

Roger comments on the state of the London market and looks to the future.

Opportunities in the uncertainty

London continues to be a strong market, despite some of the uncertainties around Brexit. Notable themes remain at the fore - housing delivery, both traditional and specialist and the re-purposing of town and district centres. We are engaged in both these areas and see great potential for the creation of vibrant new places throughout the capital.

Everything must now be viewed against the wider context of the London Plan Examination in Public next year, together with the city and borough plan reviews which are coming forward at pace. We will monitor these with interest to inform our strategic advice, applying our local knowledge and track record of working across the boroughs.

We have grown steadily over the last year in order to meet demand flowing from these opportunities and across our service specialisms. Together with our recently appointed Head of Planning London, Ben Wrighton, we will be adding Alex Christopher as Director and Catriona Fraser as Associate Director to his team. Our growing planning and multi-service offer ensures we are well placed to realise the associated opportunities for our clients.

How can Turley help?
