Energy Infrastructure

New energy infrastructure is vital to national economic prosperity but is often locally controversial. Our specialist service team is experienced in successfully promoting complex projects through the consenting process with pace and rigour.

Our portfolio includes:

  • Onshore wind and solar
  • Shale gas
  • Biomass
  • Anaerobic digestion
  • Hydropower.

Turley supported a number of 14th round bids to the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) for the award of Petroleum Exploration and Development Licences (PEDLs) through the completion of constraint analysis and preliminary site identification work. We remain active in the conventional and unconventional oil and gas markets.

At Haigh Hall our team successfully advocated a scheme for 32,000 photovoltaic cells (thus displacing 3,800 tonnes of CO2 that would otherwise be created) on land within the Green Belt and designated as a ‘Special Landscape Area’.
